i like this ms synth, I will definitely try this one today and I will make my own opinion about this. I am not an “artist” but I like how dull 2D pics converted into 3d fx like this. What I want to know later is that if the upload time is worth of waiting.

Mr Mossberg’s passing comment about Office ‘07 just goes to show: the critics are often WRONG. MSFT’s redesign cleverly confiscates usability for long term Office users, while substituting nothing remotely of equal value. Glad I still have Office 2003 on my own PCs and must suffer MSFT’s arrogant “this is better for you” only on a work PC. Does the phrase “where the #(&%@* did they hide that command?” resonate?

This sounds like a cool technological advance. I’m a Mac user so I couldn’t view it. That’s fine but I was a bit surprised by the message I got when I tried to take a look:

“Unfortunately, we’re not cool enough to run on your OS yet. We really wish we had a version of Photosynth that worked cross platform, but for now it only runs on Windows.”

Is it me or is this a rather strange way to state the application is only available for the PC? The attitude is a bit of a turnoff.

On the contrary.

Last year’s “daring and radical redesign” of Microsoft Office is still highly controversial… at best… and in the trenches getting rid of the menu bar is seen as the digital equivalent of putting the gas cap next to the steering wheel. I can’t see how you can possibly call this any kind of “success”.

It gives me no confidence at all that Microsoft told you that the product would launch at midnight EST. If they don’t know we’re currently observing Daylight Saving Time, what else don’t they know?
