Thanks for the posting. I have been longing for a touch screen phone. I use a Blackberry for work, and my sons each own an iphone, but they do not work well with our Lotus Notes email system. I'll take this as an early adopter and live with the early software glitches. Surfing on the 3G network and easier access to email is worth switching. And the haptic touch (SureTouch) looks very interesting!

"The blackberry Storm looks really fantastic. The clicking buttons are key - especially if you intend on texting while driving"

Anyone,

If your auto insurance company lower your rate after you purchase a Blackberry Storm, let me know. Thanks ;)

By the way, guess how long it took the Blackberry Storm to switch from horizontal mode to the vertical mode after rotating the phone in phonescoop's review on YouTube? Well, it didn't budge for 12 secs (4:12-4:24) and phonescoop just simply gave up demonstrating the screen rotation.

I have to agree with David Pogue's "Blackberry Dud" review on this one. From my experience playing around with the Blackberry Storm in a Verizon store, I must say this is a premature product with lots of bugs. It's like playing with some sort of prototype. If anyone thinks that the iPhone 2.0 (not the 2.2) is buggy, then the Blackberry Storm is way way way more buggy and laggy than iPhone 2.0. The Storm is extremely slow, probably because of all the bugs that it is carrying around. For instance, it takes almost forever compare to the iPhone to pinch in and out when browsing the internet. I'm really surprised and somewhat disappointed that Mr. Mossberg did not point that out at all.

I had a chance to test BlackBerry Storm and found it pretty good. It's different than iPhone and some people won't like it. On the other hand, iPhone has its flaws as well -- no perfect phone out there, yet.

If you are interested in my opinion on iPhone vs Storm drama, here's the link:

The software is actually better than the Apple. But, it'd be a tough sell to Apple's market, because Apple's market is looking more for the coolness factor. Cool the Storm is not. Could nickname her "Katrina", next time. The storm's interface definitely needs improvement. Where the hands meet the device and where the device meets the hands is important. Finger feedback is important. the technoloogy already exists, do your homework. Just integrate existing technology into your device. No need for something revolutionary, especially if consumers are unwilling to pay for it.

If you want to build out the user base just drop the price, officially, without a need for a mail-in rebate. That really irks consumers.
