A new software called Prosopagnosia was just released, it allows you to transfer contact info from Address Book to iPhoto. This makes the facebook upload much much easier!

First off, I bought the new iPhoto and I'm pretty happy with it. The flickr uploading feature was sorely overdue, and I'm very happy with the synchronization, which was under-touted and I was not really expecting.

As for faces, right now I think of it as kind of a gimmicky toy, and I agree it is not ready for primetime. The biggest indicator of this is the lack of integration with Apple's Address Book! I have to manually enter each person's e-mail address if I want the facebook sync to work. It's completely ridiculous at this point. It seems like a strange afterthought on Apple's part.

I'm not sure if I'm going to buy the upgrade but I've been impressed with the improvement I've seen made to iMovie. As someone who works a lot with video, I the program has taken a step up.

I Think that the Facebook integration Feature is a very important feature in iLife 09.

Many users now will be able to one click publish the photos from their organized galleries.

I thinkg this is the most enhancing feature of iPhoto in 09 version.

1. I agree that iPhoto doesn't see enough of the faces in the pictures on the initial scan. Drawing a box around the faces is tedious and time consuming. It'd be great if one were able to have iPhoto rescan the library and look for faces again after the initial scan. Perhaps the pixel patterns of the identified subjects would help it see the faces.

2. Where are the GPS enabled point and shoot cameras? Now that Apple's made geotagging mainstream, we need Canon, Sony, and Casio point and shoot cameras with GPS built-in even if its a battery hog. The coolness of the Places feature demands it!
