Gianni, keeping up with the apps is a challenge. Sometimes I just check the blogosphere for and article where a lot of peeps have posted their laundry list and take note of what I need.
Here are some great travel tools aside from the ever popular “tipulator”

Urban Spoon – food found around your location
Taxi Magic – book, track, charge, expense your ground transportation
ACT Currency – universal currency converter
MobileFly: check your flight status, etc.
Talking Translator – translate English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese and Italian.

Great review, got me immediate up and running to add some more tools on my iphone, I especially loved the Facebook app.

You might add as alternative for the Kindle, which is unfortunately not available for non-US readers, that there is a brilliant alternative with iPhonebookshelf. Further advantage is that this one is open to public domain books.

Nice column. I’ll go get a few of those idiots. Idiot that I can be, I finally just got an iPhone. Should have done that 2 years ago. It’s nice to see you’re at the same job and looking pretty much as I remember you looking in the 80’s. Video suffers from the camera a bit too close to you and the harsh light from the left.
